Rīgas satiksme invites orphans to apply for a discount on Riga public transport
As a result of the amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 414 of 22 June 2021 "Regulations on Fare Reductions", from 1 February, orphans and children without parental care who are in foster families, guardianship, child care institutions or studying in general or vocational education institutions, as well as in universities and colleges until the age of 24, including those whose declared place of residence is not in Riga, can travel by Riga public transport with a 100% discount. Therefore, Rīgas satiksme invites these customers to visit one of the Rīgas satiksme customer service centres and apply for a discount.
Going to one of the Rīgas satiksme customer service centres to apply for a discount, you should bring a personal identification document and a social security card.
Rīgas satiksme customer service centres are located at: Prāgas iela 1, Kurzemes prospekts 137, Brīvības gatve 384B, Spīķeru iela 1 un Brīvības iela 49/53.
Anyone entitled to a discount must tap the issued e-ticket to the electronic card reader and register the travel when boarding a bus, trolleybus or tram. A green signal on the reader confirms that the registration has been successful. The e-ticket must be presented to the ticket control officer at the time of ticket control.
